Timber processing dust collection

INTRODUCTION

Common forms of wood debris generally include sawdust, shavings, wood fibers, wood powder, small wood pieces, etc.

Some furniture factories may also produce some non-wood debris at the same time, such as paint dust, glue dust, PVC debris Wait.

If these scattered materials are not properly handled, it will not only affect the product quality, but also cause harm to the environment and workers’ bodies, and also cause some fire hazards.

How to choose dust collector?

The dust produced by the wood processing industry is relatively light, and the purification efficiency of the dust collector is higher.

If the waste form is a mixture of shavings, sawdust and dust, two or more stages of dust removal should be used.

If it is mainly in the form of flakes, blocks or larger particles, a high-efficiency cyclone can be used. If it is sanded and polished, the waste form is mainly wood dust, and the amount is not large, then filter dust collectors such as cloth bags and filter cartridges can be used directly.

In the northern alpine region, in order to save energy, it is necessary to purify the exhausted hot air and send it back to the workshop. The same is true in tropical regions.

Several issues that must be considered about safety

1 The elimination of static electricity should be considered in the design. Due to the high dust concentration in the dust collector and the silo, when the dry waste is transported in the pipeline, more static electricity will be generated due to friction, and the discharge phenomenon will cause ignition and cause dust explosion.

2 The waste material in the ash hopper of the dust collector accumulates for a long time, which is prone to spontaneous combustion in high temperature seasons. Even under normal working conditions, there will generally be about 2% of the waste deposited at the bottom of the delivery pipe. Pipes, dust collectors, silos and other parts should be regularly inspected and thoroughly cleaned.

3 The paint dust produced by sanding and painting is flammable and explosive. It is best to use the dust removal system alone, not to mix it with wood powder, and to do special treatment for it.

4 Do not place cleaning cloths, tools, parts and other items next to the suction device, and educate workers not to use a vacuum tube to absorb dust from clothes or bodies, in order to prevent foreign objects from entering the pipes or fans and causing accidents.
