What is a desulfurization slurry circulation pump?

The desulfurization slurry circulation pump is one of the very important equipment in the desulfurization system of thermal power plants. Its main function is to continuously circulate the slurry in the absorption tower so that the sulfur dioxide in the flue gas is completely absorbed.

The desulfurization slurry circulation pump pumps limestone slurry from the bottom of the absorption tower and atomizes it into the flue gas through a nozzle, so that the flue gas reaches a saturated state, and also reduces the temperature of the flue gas entering the absorption tower to below 60°C to protect the inside of the absorption tower. Anti-corrosion materials such as glass flakes and fiberglass are not damaged by high-temperature smoke. The pump should circulate the absorbent and gypsum slurry in the absorption tower slurry pool to the flue gas cooler nozzle. The pump is designed to be a centrifugal impeller pump made of wear-resistant materials. Each pump inlet and outlet is designed and installed with an electric butterfly valve. The inlet is designed and installed with a removable and cleanable filter. The pump inlet and outlet are equipped with expansion joints to prevent vibration transmission. Pipes and filters are made of carbon steel lined with butyl rubber to enhance anti-corrosion and wear resistance.
